Kidney Interrupted – An Invitation

It’s an odd experience when you think you’re having the obligatory mid-life crisis (20 years late), but you are the happiest you’ve ever been. Especially when the crisis starts the realization of your own personal mortality which, in most cases, makes people panic.

It’s had the opposite effect on this girl! Which is no surprise, since that’s how I roll.

We’ve all seen the obscenely inappropriate gestures of buying expensive cars, divorcing, and running hysterically back to the past to find the ‘who’ their younger self claimed they would be at their current age. Hilarious to an extent, they’re just trying to make it through the first part of life and then fast-tracking (backwards) to catch up toward the end! Where is the good in that?!

In my varied experiences with life, I used to wonder why I’m still here. I’m now convinced there is a reason.

Convinced.

Walking away from so many situations alive and whole lead me to realize that I do have a purpose on this Earth. Share on X

So, back to this crisis thing…

I’m actually joyful knowing I do have a purpose and exactly what it is. Realizing my days, like everyone else’s, are limited.       Mortality.

We should feel secure knowing we have so, so much lovely life ahead of us to do with as we please! Everyone has a choice to embrace the ‘midlife crisis’ and look at it as a rebirth! Or…. not. Please choose wisely and let’s get started. Use all the knowledge you’ve gained thus far and put your BEST spin on it and spread it around!

I’m asking for your help in my choice:
To champion the warriors of all kidney diseases and give us a voice and a chance to be heard. To talk about these Beauty and the Beast (within) diseases. You guys know what I mean… “Oh, you look great, must not be too sick”. To help with co-sharing, trading information, tips, etc. An all-encompassing resource where everyone, from the newly diagnosed to caregivers to the overly experienced kidney veteran, is welcome to participate.

It might be hard for you to to begin this, but it sure starts to flow easily as you let that pent up anger, sadness, frustration, and sometimes rage come on out. Especially when you see we are here to uplift, inspire, troubleshoot, cry a bit, laugh and maybe just listen. No judgement. Hopefully, a level of understanding we just don’t find in other avenues. 💚

We are not kidney patients.

We are people.

So keep reading and join in when you can… in this new vision for wellness or sanity or healthy living…. called a blog. Kidney Interrupted.

And, let’s face it, we do have a special niche in this world so let’s have a spiffy little moniker we can call ourselves! SUGGESTIONS APPRECIATED.😉

So, join in on our blog, like us on Facebook and find us on Instagram!

Remember, Kidney Interrupted is about all things kidney. Everyone needs them! Reach out and let this be your sounding board and get in on the love we’ll share! I can’t wait to meet y’all.

💚Debbie
